The Myler HBT Shank Snaffle Bit MB 03 pairs Myler's MB 03 mouthpiece with a 5" stainless steel HBT shank, here in a 4 3/4" mouth. Myler rates the MB 03 as Level 1.
The MB 03 is Myler's alternative to a French link or lozenge, with a copper roller added. The curved sweet iron mouthpiece wraps around the bars and lips rather than pinching them, and its center barrel applies about the same tongue pressure as a three-piece mouth but spreads it more gently. That barrel also gives Myler's Independent Side Movement.
The HBT is a short, slightly curved stainless steel shank with a flat-top purchase. It is an indirect-action bit with mild leverage on the mouth, chin and poll, used with a curb strap on the purchase, and the short shank makes grazing easier on the trail.
